There is free fast broadband available throughout the property.
The bedroom does not have a TV, but is fitted fitted with a smart speaker which will give access to news, radio and any fun facts you want to ask it about. You can use the free Wi-Fi to watch streaming services on your laptop or smart phone in your bedroom, or if you prefer to watch TV in comfort, there is the 49” flat screen in the lounge with FreeSat and a complementary streaming service.
I have worked with birds of prey for over twenty years at the award-winning Hawk Conservancy Trust and I still do part-time admin work for them. One of my favourite breeds of falcon were the inspiration for the bedroom name and colour theme.
The Gyr Bedroom
Named for the stunning black and white falcon, the Gyr is a double room with views over open countryside to the distant mountains. It has a double bed with hypoallergic bedding, bedside tables, two chairs, a hanging rail and shelves and a dressing table. The en-suite has a toilet, hand basin, shower, heated towel rail and complimentary toiletries. Central heating is available for the colder months and can be adjusted in both the main room and the bathroom to suit your needs. The window opens for extra ventilation. Tea/filtered coffee making facilities are available and filtered water and biscuits are provided.
Lounge
The lounge is available for your exclusive use during your stay. It has a large comfortable L-shaped sofa and a 49” flat screen TV with FreeSat and Netflix streaming service. There is a flame effect electric fire set into the wall and an additional window seat. At the other end of this room is the breakfast dining area, where you can enjoy your inclusive breakfast in the morning.
Balcony and Garden
You have exclusive access to the balcony that leads off the lounge via French doors, there are steps down to a seating area where you can sit and watch the local wildlife.
Breakfast
Breakfast at Tanleys B&B is served between 7.30-9.00am in the lounge/dinning room at a table overlooking the cairngorm mountains. In nice weather you can open the French doors for an uninterrupted view, or parties of one or two may prefer to eat alfresco at a table on the balcony outside the French doors. Earlier breakfast times available by arrangement.
There is a choice of full cooked breakfasts with lighter options if required, which need to be pre-ordered the night before, so that it is ready for at your selected time. Wherever possible food is sourced from local supplier and all eggs are organic.
For anyone with specific dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, vegan and dairy /gluten-free) options can be provided if advance notice is given.
Please advise of any allergies in the members of your party before your visit so that special arrangements can be made.
The Speyside (Heather) Centre (0.2 miles) also do a good lunch-time menu.
Regretfully evening meals are not available at Tanleys, however there are several good restaurants nearby, the closest being the Boat Country Inn & Restaurant at Boat of Garth (3.5 miles). Recommendations for other hotels in the area can be provided. There are also several takeaways in Grantown-on-Spey (just over 4 miles away). You are welcome to eat your takeaway at the dinning table or even outside if it is a nice evening.

Smoking and Vaping There is no smoking or vaping allowed within the property, but you may smoke in the garden if you wish to. Please dispose of waste in the bin provided and not on the ground
